Being a parent is hard

I find being a parent the most challenging, emotionally complex and often isolating thing I have ever done. During the pandemic lockdowns of 2020, when I struggled to look after a toddler, manage a full-time job and grow another tiny human (in the high risk environment that is my body), I discovered that reaching out to other parents helped me feel more connected, less guilty and more hopeful that I could manage.

I created this mini blog series for two reasons. My passion is to make everyone feel more connected and supported. I want to share the collective wisdom we all gain as we face the daily challenges of raising our little ones. I want to create a community, sharing in the stress and also the joy of parenting. Whenever I speak to other parents I find most of my struggles are shared and other parents are only too willing to listen and give advice.

a side note

These posts serve partly as therapy for me, and partly in hopes that the words will resonate with you and help build a community of parents and friends that can support each other. Take a look around the website, and join if you want to see more.
